Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.  We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This role is with the Insights and Reporting team, which resides within the Wholesale Chief Operating Office. The Insights and Reporting team’s responsibilities include data analysis, requirements documentation, business intelligence dashboard and report development, and other reporting services across Wholesale as well as for individual Wholesale LOBs.

Specifically, primary responsibilities for this role will include working with technology, internal Insights and Reporting team members, and line of business partners to:

  • Research, analyze, and provide both data and business layer requirements for new data or needed enhancements
  • Ensure continued accuracy and usefulness of business data by partnering closely with business and technology partners
  • Collaborate with a variety of teams across the bank, including, but not limited to, EIT, DMI, Wholesale LOB teams, and other Insights and Reporting teams.
  • Perform requirements acceptance testing and data validation throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Leads and/or participates in implementation and coordination activities for data and business layer implementations
  • Expand use of current Business Intelligence tool functionality by performing demonstrations
  • Provide support for existing dashboards and reporting
  • Support internal team members with ad hoc reporting needs

The business intelligence tool supported is OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition).

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite, and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both



Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using TSQL or similar querying methods
  • Experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables
  • Teradata experience
  • Data modeling experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition)
  • Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence development and reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
  • Ability to think strategically, implement, and deliver business objectives
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Experience with IT strategic planning, governance and management
  • Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Knowledge and understanding of BI platform and tools such as: SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and TSQL
  • Knowledge and understanding of data warehouse or data mart concepts
  • Wholesale banking experience
