Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

It’s an exciting time to be a part of Corporate Risk’s Group Issue Management (GIM) team.   This position, is part of the newly created team within the Corporate Risk Control Executive organization.  The GIM team is responsible for ensuring quality and timeliness of all Corporate Risk issues data that is managed in the SHRP module in partnership with issues owners; providing analytics and reporting for issues through their lifecycle; and ensuring compliance with policy, education for partners and facilitation of tollgates.  This role will provide oversight, guidance, and subject matter expertise on issue management requirements and processes.

The position will report into the Corporate Risk GIM Governance Manager within Corporate Risk.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement and maintain a corporate risk group issue management (GIM) governance document
  • Implement and maintain corporate risk Issue Management Procedures/Guidance
  • Interpret, implement, and provide feedback regarding the Issue Management Policy to ensure alignment of Procedures/Guidance for Corporate Risk
  • Reviews and analyzes select policies that engage with issue management
  • Identifies training opportunities and may provide input into the development of training material and job aids
  • Develops and maintains process guides, templates, and job aids for aligned policies and programs
  • Monitor and report on corporate risk’s compliance with the Issue Management Policy
  • Provide input and guidance for new SHRP releases, updates, and enhancements for Corporate Risk
  • Provide feedback and input to influence Issue Management
  • Create and execute Issue Management training program for corporate risk GIM team and corporate risk teams
  • Onboard new corporate risk GIM team members, training them to ensure compliance with the issue lifecycle
  • Identify and promote best practices and enhancements
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) in SHRP Issue Management Platform
  • Document and maintain corporate risk GIM business processes
  • Manage access to SHRP, including ongoing monitoring, ensuring proper training and credible challenge performed by individual requesting access has been evidenced
  • Monitor and maintain corporate risk issues management email box
  • Identify themes and next steps for common questions and challenges

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
