Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company’s shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services.

The Customer Remediation (CR) Center of Excellence develops and implements consistent enterprise standards for remediating commitment-to-customer issues across our consumer lines of business. The organization enables more effective and coordinated monitoring, reporting and stakeholder communications. Enhancing our practices and outcomes for customers is a critical part of building a better Wells Fargo.

We have an immediate need for a highly skilled Analytic Consultant 4.  This Analytic Consultant will play a critical role of leveraging deep business systems, database knowledge and business knowledge to perform advanced data validation of customer remediation populations.

***We are looking for someone who understands the customer remediation business model and also has combined experience with some or all of the following: data analytics, information technology, automation testing, relational databases, SQL Server, SQL, SAS, and some business knowledge/experience.***

Key Responsibilities:
•Analysis of customer remediation issues to understand customer populations in one of the following areas (1) insurance/3rd party products, specifically for Add-On Products (AOP), (2) Wholesale, or (3) Wealth and Investment Management (WIM).
•Acts as a liaison between the Line of Business and CR COE by conducting analysis of highly complex business problems and consulting with the Line of Business for solutions.
•Assists the Line of Business to develop and document Business and Technical requirements based on discussions with the Line of Business.
•Completes process documentation supporting customer remediations.
•Load, transform, query databases via SQL or SAS to identify populations of potential customers.
•Profile data to identify outliers, quality issues, and inaccurate data.
•Analyze complex SQL code to validate populations of potential customers.
•Interpret business requirements and use Microsoft SQL Server database objects to effectively manage customer data, identify customers who are eligible for refunds and perform complex calculations to determine their refund amounts.
•Analyze and perform various data clean-up tasks against multiple disparate data sources and logically merge them into a single, well-structured project database.
•Create and update supporting documentation following Customer Remediation COE Target Operating Model.
•Document remediation populations, selection criteria, analysis and results to provide very clear and easy-to-understand
documentation that any team member (including non-technical team members) can follow.
•Critically review remediation analytic approaches to ensure accurate data populations.
•Develop in-depth line of business specific data knowledge and become the data SME for assigned projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

Other Desired Qualifications

•Knowledge and familiarity with the Wells Fargo Customer Remediation (CR) policy and the process of remediating customers in accordance with the CR policy.
•Working knowledge/experience with BMG and Teradata SQL would be useful.
•Strong analytical skills as this role requires complex data manipulation and financial calculations that can be justified and explained to auditors and external regulatory agencies.
•Must be self-motivated and have the ability to offer solutions to complex business problems.
•Must be able to think logically and analytically.
•Must have strong written and oral communication skills and have the ability to effectively participate in meetings over the phone and via web meetings.
•Must be able to fully document step-by-step processes and findings.
•Must be able to function productively in an environment where roles and responsibilities are not always clear-cut and where priorities are frequently changing.
