Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.  We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This position is within Wells Fargo Commercial Capital - Corporate Trust Services (CTS) - Document Custody

The Custody Operations Specialist 2 performs a variety of operational tasks for the most complex processes or functions within the Document Custody line of business.

This position takes accountability for entire process from receipt of work to resolution while working in a diverse, collaborative, team environment meeting established deadlines and assists in achieving goals to meet department objectives and service level agreements.

Tasks require coordination of information among various operational areas and/or Relationship Management teams. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Use multiple Online systems
- Requires working knowledge and the skills to be able to handle confidential customer information including but not limited to residential and commercial mortgage files and documents
- Contacting appropriate parties as needed
- Verifying, preparing, organizing, and distributing complex work
- Exercises some judgment within Wells Fargo, client, and government agency guidelines to resolve issues affecting the work-flow
- Considered a subject matter expert and knowledgeable on teams processes relating to the Custody operations or functions
- Acts as escalation contact for less senior team members for complex issues and processes
- May provide training and quality control as needed
- Work under general supervision following established procedures

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 18+ months of experience in one or a combination of the following: operations, customer interaction, production or general office environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently provide summary and recommendations on operational data
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Knowledge and understanding of emBTRUST
  • Knowledge and understanding of document custody
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently provide summary and recommendations on operational data
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
