KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
We have an excellent opportunity for an Operational Risk Consultant in Wells Fargo Technology (WFT). In this new role you will be responsible for ensuring WFT is monitoring and assessing its portfolio of risk associated with operational risk disciplines (i.e., Information Security, Payments, Fraud, etc). Candidates will need to be able to become WFT’s subject matter expert for multiple operational risk areas. Candidates will need to represent WFT’s interests to the Enterprise groups responsible for creating the operational risk policies and programs related to operational risk. This person will also need to be able to articulate Enterprise requirements to stakeholders within WFT, and create internal policies and procedures that reflect WFT’s standards above-and-beyond what is required by the Enterprise. This person will also be responsible for monitoring WFT’s portfolio of operational risk within certain disciplines and reporting on the adequacy of WFT’s compliance with requirements through various forums and committees. Monitoring of risk will include periodic deep-dive assessments that this person will conduct.   

The successful candidate will have a well-rounded operational risk and/or technical background. The candidate will need to understand technology risk concepts, controls, and technical environments in order to keep pace with the evolving technical and threat landscape. The candidate will need to possess the ability to represent operational risk information to management and committees via metrics and reporting.



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technology environment within the last 8 years
  • Previous risk assessment experience within the last 5 years
  • Understanding of Wells Fargo operational risk programs
  • Degree in Technology or related field
  • Related certification (e.g. CISSP, CISA, GIAC, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, engineers, administrators and various levels of management
