This position is part of the Solution Engineering Organization supporting the Loan Production and Delivery (LP&D). In this position as an Application Systems Engineer 5, you will act as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation to help with the Innovation, Cloud migration, Micro services and Framework. You will be responsible for supporting Horizontal components for CORE, iTaLL and other Home Lending platforms within Consumer Lending.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understand the business needs and cutting edge technologies to build the services that aligns with the Wells Fargo vision and values.
  • Providing Java/J2EE and/or UI coding guidance and set standards for the development community.
  • Develop a UI designer tool which can create reusable templates for the single page applications. Also upgrading the current AngularJS application into latest Angular release.
  • Developing the POCs to demonstrate the viability of new ideas and technologies to support the innovation.
  • Componentize the current CORE platform into Microservices.
  • Guide and outline ideas for migration of the application into Cloud platform.
  • Develop and support the Framework and patterns for the new micro services and converting the monolithic application into micro services.
  • Analyzing highly complex business requirements designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Leading projects, allocating and managing the team’s resources and the work of less experienced staff.
  • Assuring quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area, as well as, overseeing creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5+ years of Java experience
  • 5+ years of JavaEE experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 4+ years of Spring experience
  • 4+ years of Hibernate experience
  • 3 + years of JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery, Ext JS, Kendo UI or Angular JS)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Wells Fargo home lending technology experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of home lending or consumer lending
  • Financial services industry experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of mortgage origination processes, including sales and/or operations/fulfillment processes
  • Experience with Responsive design UI technologies
  • Experience with Microservices
  • Experience with the SDLC utilizing either Agile, Iterative and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with Cloud development, preferably Cloud Foundry
