Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

Within DMI, the Data Domain and Privacy Management (DDPM) team has responsibility in ensuring Wells Fargo applications across the company meet our internal data governance standards as well as external regulatory expectations through strategic execution and partnering with team members in all lines of business and enterprise support functions. This includes work around data privacy and meeting international (GDPR) and state/national (CCPA) regulations for protecting this information. The Data Management Consultant 3 (DMC3) role will be an individual contributor role on a critical function team within DDPM.

Day to day activities will be widely varied but central to ensuring data governance compliance is achieved through supporting ongoing routines and tracking compliance tasks. The DMC3, in conjunction with their domain manager, will partner with business executives, technology leaders, and application business owners to assess gaps, define and execute improvement, and monitor the data environment.  This role will be expected to become a subject matter expert in the data governance policy and the processes/procedures used to assess application compliance and capabilities. Additionally, the DMC3 is expected to be a key contributor to improvements of existing and/or new processes that aide in compliance assessments and tracking.

  • Assess current application capabilities within the data domain against target Enterprise Data Governance Policy compliance requirements; responsible for or contribute to the development of a plan and roadmap to implement required capabilities
  • Drive improved metadata, data quality and control capabilities across the applications within the domain utilizing matrixed operating model across DMI, Technology and Lines of Business
  • Leads, organizes and provides direction on key activities against other priorities
  • May directly manage resources; indirectly manage resources from data management Centers of Excellence
  • Prepare and support executive-level presentations and status updates
  • Contribute to deliverables needed for regulatory and audit engagements and exams
  • Assist with performing a holistic review of risks associated with data activities and solutions
  • Socializes data governance strategy, implementation approach, data privacy concepts, tools and processes to technology and business application leaders
  • Develops deep and broad partnerships across business, technology and operations leaders


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or project management
  • 4+ years of data analysis, experience, data management experience, or a combination of both
