Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.

The Role

  • The Corporate Strategy team provides strategic advice, subject matter expertise, innovative solutions, and effective tools to Wells Fargo businesses. Corporate Strategy Project Team Leads will be expected to:
  • Frame complex business problems into distinct workstreams that can be used to evaluate strategic options and ultimately develop recommendations for enterprise-wide projects or line of business specific projects, with minimal direction
  • Design and deliver complex, enterprise-wide projects by partnering, influencing and developing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and team members and leveraging firm-wide resources. Facilitate and lead meetings with key stakeholders and senior management  
  • Lead development of key deliverables and presentations for senior management, Board of Directors, and regulators, by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing disparate data (e.g., competitive assessments, consumer research, financial analysis, and industry research) from business partners and external sources, to create points of view and help determine future strategy 
  • Develop junior team members and actively participate in practice management activities

Joining the Corporate Strategy team will give you the chance to gain insight into the strategic issues, which are forefront in the minds of senior management and the Board of Directors, and create relationships with people across the entire organization. Examples of projects completed by the team include the annual Wells Fargo strategic plan, an enterprise-wide consumer strategy, market entry and build versus buy assessments, and playbooks for enterprise-wide events (e.g., Recovery and Resolution Governance Mechanisms).

Who You Are
We are looking for talented, self-driven, and ambitious strategy consultants that can be successful in a highly matrixed enterprise, and a collaborative team environment, to help us accomplish Wells Fargo’s strategic goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 6+ years of experience utilizing analytical capabilities in one or a combination of the following: assessing disparate financial data, market research reports, product development, or forecasting
  • 4+ years of experience in one or combination of the following: leading cross functional teams, enterprise-wide projects, or directly managing people

Desired Qualifications

  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm
  • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to draw conclusions and translate findings
