In this position as an Application Systems Engineer 5, you will Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs.

This position will be an integral part of the overall Digital Trusted Data Source (DTDS) team in Consumer Lending Technology group within Enterprise Information Technology.

DTDS team is primarily focused in the development and support of data aggregation APIs for Wells Fargo. Currently multiple external (through API Gateway) and internal clients are consuming DTDS APIs. This is an exciting group and the teams w/in are ever changing and growing.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a lead technology professional wanting to not only contribute excellent code but also develop and extend an existing APIs, integration services and general coding standards, techniques, and procedures in a cutting edge development environment that is focused on the next generation development platform within Wells Fargo.

DTDS team is looking for technically strong and motivated professionals for micro-services development with new SEAR specification - decouple & componentize through interface APIs, scope to Business Capability (domain / bounded context) and single capability.

As a Senior Developer/Engineer, you will design, develop and unit tests APIs that will  need to re-platform DTDS APIs to micro-services and cloud migration with SEAR spec to support independently design, develop, test, deploy and scalable.

The successful candidate in this position will be responsible for the day-to-day application of proven patterns and practices. The ideal candidate for this role must have the ability to adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner. Must be willing to leverage existing development best practices to drive measurable results.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesigns complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code.
  • Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
  • Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
  • Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides.
  • Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of Java experience
  • 5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to support off hours production deployments
  • Proven experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large scale Java/J2EE projects, utilizing best design patterns, tooling and coding practices
  • Experience with SOAP, JSON, XML
  • Experience in Microservices design, & development with cloud services and deployment models and design patterns
  • Experience with Java 1.8, REST Micro-services, Docker, RabbitMQ, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Spring Cloud
  • Strong experience in Spring & Spring Boot based application design & development.
  • Understanding of containerization conceptually and non-functional requirements like scalability, availability, re-usability and supportability
  • Knowledge and understanding of Event Sourcing, Kafka producer and consumer patterns, Domain Driven Design concepts
  • Spring JDBC, JMS (Java Message Service), Quartz/Spring Batch or experience in similar design patterns
  • Experience with Netflix Eureka, Netflix Ribbon and Apache Camel
  • Experience in SQL, Oracle DB
  • Experience in Maven, Ant, Tomcat, Sub version, Eclipse, MBeans, JMX
