The Institutional Client Associate is responsible for planning and support of Institutional Client Directors in new sales and client retention activities related to large and complex institutional clients and consultants, with focus on corporations, endowments and foundations, and other large institutions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing presentations, preparing marketing and service materials for use in client meetings
  • Assessing compliance implications and managing the client and consultant questionnaire process
  • Responsible for preparation and provision of portfolio performance and competitive analysis, interpreting the data and making recommendations based on the analysis
  • Developing, analyzing, and ensuring timely and prompt delivery of client reports, commentaries and preparing portfolio review material
  • Responsible for resolving operational, systems-related and/or issues for internal and external clients. Has a broad and deep understanding of client/prospect/consultant needs
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures providing for more efficient and timely execution of team tasks
  • Liaise and act as main point of contact with certain investment teams on client meeting materials and reports
  • Demonstrating outstanding flexibility, teamwork and leadership across all levels of Wells Fargo Asset Management and its affiliates
  • Acts as back up while Directors are traveling/out of the office to address requests


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of institutional quality sales support, equivalent relationship management support, or a combination of both

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the institutional industry and products
  • Knowledge and understanding of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of revenue driven goals and their implications
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of investment products and services
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong project management skills
