To build the capability of BBU s Vendor/Supplier Management Programs to achieve the highest levels of food safety and quality on a sustainable basis.
Provides technical support to suppliers on Food Safety issue resolution and corrective actions.   Works with supply chain, R&D, Procurement and other internal customers to assure compliance with Food Safety requirements of suppliers.   Technically interprets third party Food Safety audit and approval system for Suppliers. Work on supplier approval and documents management.  

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and updates as needed BBU s Supplier Approval program managed through TraceGains.
  • Designs, implements, and verifies compliance with BBU Quality & Food Safety requirements for our Suppliers.
  • Provides training, tools, techniques, coaching, and mentoring to assure applicable BBU associates are fully capable of utilizing BBU s systems for approving and maintaining suppliers.
  • Collaborates, as needed, to develop the Quality and Food Safety capabilities of suppliers to enable them to drive towards zero Quality and Food Safety incidents.
  • Works with BBU procurement to establish specific accountabilities for suppliers.
  • Develops systems and reports to monitor Supplier Quality & Food Safety KPI s and drive improvements.
  • Performs data analysis trending reports for BBU suppliers.
  • Maintains BBU s Food Safety Plan Ingredient Hazard Analysis.
  • Supports suppliers during implementation of new processes and policies such as GFSI, TraceGains, Regulatory Requirements, etc.
  • Conducts periodic audits and risk assessments to suppliers.
  • Participates in investigations to determine and address root causes during special situations, quality failures, regulatory inspections regarding vendor (ingredient & packaging) related incidents, etc. to assure proper investigation, root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Promotes and supports the use of quality tools.
  • Oversees programs to reduce or eliminate supplier issues (Documentation, Quality and Food Safety).
  • Follows up on corrective action plans and improvement projects with suppliers, procurement and R&D teams.
  • Assists BBU supplier s management team and suppliers in identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Travel: 50%. Occasional weekend travel may be necessary.
  • Participates and maintain documentation up to date for the FSVP.
  • Perform and keep updated the food fraud risk assessment.
  • Tracks and monitors news and information about outbreaks, food frauds, and other relevant information.
