Cox Automotive – Consumer Solutions Group is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Director, SEO to join our Product team. As Director, SEO you will report to the VP, Product and be responsible for developing and executing the organic search strategies of Autotrader.com and KBB.com. Working closely with Product, UX, Editorial and Technology you’ll implement best practices and strategic recommendations to drive incremental audience and value as well as partner with Marketing to align our organic and paid media strategies. 

Successful candidates will have a proven track record increasing organic search audience through daily performance analysis and effective management of forwarding-thinking SEO strategies and planning. This role requires the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, resources, and people in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and flexible, have strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to complete projects within aggressive timeframes and lastly analytical. 

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic direction of the organic search team creating strategies, road maps and tactical execution plans
  • Build, manage and motivate an SEO team across multiple locations
  • Research and analyze competitive SEO strategies
  • Serve as SEO subject matter expert for our Product, Editorial, UX and Technology teams
  • Partner with Marketing to align Paid Media and organic search strategies
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments in SEO and search engine algorithm changes
  • Measure and track site ranking factors, keywords, internal and external links, and site content
  • Oversee the creation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting
  • Partner with and manage relationships with external vendors

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of organic search experience, either in-house or at an agency
  • Excellent understanding of technical SEO requirements
  • Excellent understanding of web analytics (Adobe and Google Analytics)
  • Deep understanding of search engine ranking criteria, including local ranking factors
  • Experience working with leading SEO tools – Google Search Console, Majestic, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SiteBulb, SEOClarity etc
  • Past-proven experience successfully managing and implementing SEO initiatives for enterprise websites
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or other rich media technologies (website architecture a plus)
  • Ability to work with various types of data to develop and analyze trends and insights
  • High expectation of communications, project management and technical SEO skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Automotive experience a plus
  • Requires an Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
