Senior Manager, Security Awareness, Cyber M&A and Strategic Initiatives

Cox Communications is looking for a Senior Manager, Privacy and Security Awareness & Training, Information Security M&A, and Strategic Initiatives who will also continue to develop and implement the strategy for the Privacy and Security Awareness and Training program for CCI. This program includes quarterly simulated phishing campaigns for all CCI employees. This program may expand to vishing and smishing and other social engineering campaigns for specific departments within CCI, based on risk.

This person will also lead the Information Security Mergers & Acquisitions program. This program will lead the coordination of all aspects of the Security M&A process, from diligence to integration. 


This person will collaborate with other M&A representatives throughout Technology and the Business and within Cox business functional areas to gain agreement on the Information Security requirements and needs for the proposed M&A.  This program also includes diligence on investments in companies, not just the acquisition of companies. 


There are many other strategic programs that the SATS(Security & Analytics Technology Services) organization will begin creating, this person will lead many of these programs.  One of these programs could be the overall SATS internal training program.  This program will guide internal SATS employees on how to obtain required or desired skills using the tools/skill sets we have at our disposal, as well as, the process for obtaining approval for external training.


The Information Security Field / Market Security liaisons will be another of the programs lead by this position. These liaisons will be embedded in each of the markets to understand market needs for Security, as well as, acting as the conduit in the market for critical Information Security topics.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

  • Drive collaboration with CEI and all other Cox divisions
  • Drive the Security M&A playbook to guide all activities from diligence through to integration
  • Drive collaboration and partnership throughout Technology for the ongoing support of the M&A playbook
  • Collaborate with primary boundary partners (e.g. Cox Business, Marketing/Sales, Product Management, Customer Care, Customer Experience, Field Services, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain) as required to ensure successful deployment of strategic initiatives
  • Lead other strategic initiatives / programs, as they arise
  • Communicating and escalating risks to business stakeholders for remediation or acceptance
  • Ensure that identified risks are properly escalated to identified stakeholder and management
  • Define, monitor, and publish key reporting metrics and status reports that measure and effectively convey the overall effectiveness of both M&A progress and Privacy and Security Awareness and Training program
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to ensure success in their respective roles
  • Individual must also possess the desire to drive efforts to their conclusion as needed

  • Maintain an open and ongoing communication with staff

Qualifications:

Minimum :
  • 5+ years of experience required in the field of information security with a demonstrated path of increasing scope and management responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Proven ability to drive consensus and collaboration among many diverse teams, individuals and functional groups to achieve desired business results
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present relevant conclusions, and recommendations and explain to executives and top management
  • Experience managing budgetary responsibilities and capital constraints
  • Track record of working effectively with all levels of a typical large organization within a matrix structure
  • Experience escalating risk issues to senior technology or company leadership
  • At least one relevant industry certification – CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CPA
 
Preferred :
  • Subject Matter Expertise in security frameworks such as ISO 27000, NIST 800-53, NIST CyberSecurity Framework, SSAE 16 SOC1/SOC2/SOC3, and PCI Data Security Standard
  • BS/BA degree required (i.e., Computer Science/Engineering, Business, etc.)
  • Experience in the telecommunications, financial services, defense or government industries desired
  • Big four audit/consulting background
