As a Security Architect at RapidScale, you will have the opportunity to pioneer security architectures supporting meaningful business initiatives. Building on those experiences, you’ll collaborate with the business to design architectures that enable new features, innovate with new technologies, and explore new challenges.  This role is critical to ensure we continue to meet the security commitments we have made with our internal and external customers.  This position will focus on project work with the majority of that work being planned in nature.  A great fit for this role is a creator.  We are looking for that person who will plan, design, build, handoff, and continually optimize security-related technology and processes. 


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Evaluates, proposes, and implements enterprise-class technology and processes to optimize security and to mitigate threats as they emerge.
  • Develops and implements appropriate security standards and technology baselines
  • Reduces cyber risks with a range of tasks from identification through full implementation of the technology or process with a handoff to others for routine operation.  Examples include:
    • RapidScale Cloud Platform EDR product
    • RapidScale SIEM Platform product
    • RapidScale Vulnerability Scanner(s)
    • RapidScale Permissions Change Tracking
  • Monitor and manage security infrastructure capacity, size, and scale.
  • Audits, documents, and illustrates the security practices and procedures of the RapidScale Operations
  • Serves as a secondary resource for overflow work in vulnerability triage and remediation
  • Accepts escalation for complex security incidents
  • Leads security gap analysis, investigation & analysis, as needed
  • Incident response Fire Marshal
  • Leads and/or manages security efforts addressing cybersecurity priorities



The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.

  • Knowledge of and prior hands-on experience in a wide variety of security tools/ technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, and SIEM.
  • Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation, as well as, the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
  • Knowledge of CSA CCM, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPPA, HITRUST, SOC2, OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, etc
  • Strong domain expertise and technology implementation/ integration experience in one or more areas such as Cloud Security, Endpoint Security, Data Protection, Network Security, Application Security, and Identity & Access Management.
  • Able to collaborate and work across multiple internal functions to ensure that timelines and milestones are achieved.
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, positive, high energy environment. It can have periods of high stress due to deadlines and the necessity of quick response times.
  • Require limited supervision and direction; drive results and set priorities independently.
  • At least 8 years of related experience
  • Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule
  • One or more security certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CSSLP, SANS/GIAC)
  • Experience working in a SOC environment and handling security incidents, including the use of forensic analysis to assess alerts and logs.
  • Employment experience with a CSP and / or MSP operating multi-tenant platforms
