Role Summary


The incumbent manages and leads a team of Vendor Management Specialists, Quality Assurance (QA) Specialists, and Quality Specialist (QS) Technicians within an assigned market/region who are focused on supporting local service fulfillment vendors and ensuring the delivery of quality objectives consistent with enterprise-wide standards and protocols for processing and application.  In addition, he/she is responsible for ensuring that assigned vendors deliver positive overall performance and customer experience in accordance with previously established standards.  The incumbent will Interface with boundary partner leadership to represent vendor-specific initiatives, issues and concerns.    


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Provides management and leadership to, as well as oversight of, a team of Vendor Management Specialists, QA Specialist, and QS technicians to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of company objectives and work activities in accordance with previously established quality standards.
  • Develops a strong understanding of vendor contract intricacies and ensures the team enforces compliance among the vendor community in accordance with company standards and practices.
  • Ensures consistent execution of the vendor labor strategy. 
  • Reviews Center-generated operational metrics associated with vendors and, if necessary, takes appropriate steps to ensure recovery plans are in place to address performance deficiencies.
  • Facilitates bi-weekly “All Vendor” regional meetings, ensuring concerns and issues are communicated and heard in a collaborative manner.
  • Drives consistency and standardization across all assigned vendors.
  • Serves as an advocate within the vendor community and escalates service improvement opportunities and best practices to the Corporate vendor management team as warranted.
  • Provides mediation to resolve performance and scorecard escalations, as well as feedback and direction on issues affecting vendor service.
  • Ensures that key project milestones are met.  This includes, but may not be limited to, adjusting project plans, resourcing, and funding as needed to meet customer needs.
  • Manages Center-generated budget and expense data related to the vendor services team and maintains accountability for outside spend components (e.g., Material CPP, vendor invoicing approvals, etc.).  
  • Collaborates with internal boundary partners to influence cross-functional initiatives that impact vendors.
  • May be called upon to travel either within the market/region or beyond.



·                  7 or more years of experience required in related field (e.g., Vendor Management, etc.) OR 5 or more years of experience if the candidate possesses advanced degree

·                  Excellent collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization

·                  Strong managerial and interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

·                  Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with demonstrated analytical skills and an ability to make timely decisions in a logical, effective manner

·                  Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite



·                  BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e., Business, etc.), though MBA preferred

·                  2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred

·                  Experience in telecommunications industry desired
