The Analyst (Registered) is a fully paid or firm paid (exception only), salaried, exempt position on the Financial Advisor Team to further develop and service their client base. The Analyst is responsible for implementing and executing the Optimal Practice Model (OPM) in their specific functional role (i.e. Business Development, Business Management, Relationship Management or Investments).  Specific accountabilities for the role may vary depending on the team’s practice. Performance is measured by the FA or FA team, along with OMT, through specific goals, metrics, and behavior related to the execution of the OPM function.  The Analyst (Non Registered) is a non-exempt position for a non -licensed hire lacking a license and/or designation, until fully licensed and designation achieved. The Analyst (Registered) is a non-exempt position for licensed employees that are in progress of completing their designation in 12-months.

Duties & Responsibilities

Trade executions: The trading assistant will manage day-to-day trades and transactions across all asset classes for the team.

Market monitoring: The trading assistant keeps an eye on the market as a whole, in order to keep the rest of the team and clients informed should something in the market suddenly shift. This includes coordinating transactions with portfolio managers and investment teams with regards to their trade ideas, information flow and data requests.

Clerical services: The trading assistant supports the team with clerical duties that include filing records or documents into systems, preparing documents for contracts, legal records, investments and preparing research or technical reports.

Compute holdings: The trading assistant will maintain intra-day accounts of interest, dividends, brokerage fees, transfer taxes or commissions and trades. This includes summarizing the daily transactions and earnings into reports for each client.

Coordinating between teams: The trading assistant will managing coordination between all teams required for transactions including account opening, credit / margin, settlement & other back office support.


  • Must be fully registered (Must have the Series 7 and 66 licenses)
  • All state licenses in support of FA or FA Team’s client base
  • All product licenses in support of FA or FA Team’s client base
  • Must be willing to Obtain and/or maintain at least one firm approved designation
  • Safe Act Registered    
  • Previous experience with extensive daily trade execution across asset classes on trading desks at banks, brokerage firms or hedge funds.

  • Experienced with global capital markets and credit derivatives

  • Extensive experience with advanced spreadsheet programs such as Excel, VBA and SQL

  • Understanding of economics and accounting, with a working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, financial markets and working with financial information

  • Strong mathematical skills, including familiarity with algebra, arithmetic, geometry, statistics, calculus and how to apply them to financial markets

  • Customer service skills, including meeting customer needs, working with standard office machinery, offering quality standards of service and evaluating customer satisfaction in a timely and professional manner, despite the fast-paced environment

  • The trading assistant’s clerical services require attention to detail and the ability to manage office issues in a fast-paced environment. They also maintain top interpersonal skills, enabling them to meet the needs of clients and co-workers


**This position is posted as a more senior position but is flexible to be filled as a lower level position if the posted qualifications are met by a strong lower level applicant.
