Job Description:

  • Responsible for negotiating all Collegiate renewals within the Affinity/Cobrand sector.  At any one time, there will be multiple renewals in flight.
  • Leads and manages the entire renewal process inclusive of front-end P&L analysis and recommendations on proposed financial terms, as well as financial/contractual negotiations with clients on the back-end.
  • Accountable also for Client Management responsibilities for a minimum of seven existing Collegiate client relationships.
  • Develops a pipeline of all upcoming Collegiate renewals and aligns resources as needed.
  • Works directly with Law during the negotiation process and will dictate the tempo and cadence of all renewals in partnership with Law.
  • Serves as the business liaison between the bank and assigned clients.  Works to achieve successful business outcomes for both.
  • Works closely with Control, Compliance, Risk, and Marketing partners to provide responsible growth and support for the Collegiate business.

  • General understanding of contracts, direct marketing techniques, and Affinity/Cobrand P&L’s.
  • Command of trends, opportunities, and threats within the Collegiate marketplace.
  • An authentic leader with a profile built on courage, wisdom, trustworthiness, caring service, character, and a moral compass.
  • Executive presence, as this position interacts often with Collegiate CEO’s and Presidents. 

Desired Skills:

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a business development, marketing, or strategy role.
  • Ability to tell a story; a clear writer and persuasive speaker, with the mature deal-making ability to sell complex concepts.
  • Natural grasp of how Affinity/Cobrand clients conduct their businesses and interface with the bank.
