Job Description:

This person will fill a role on the Global Information Security - Information Defense team and will serve as an analyst for the Database Activity Monitoring (DBAM) control. This person will work with our Subject Matter Experts and other analysts to monitor activity on high risk systems and will respond to security events related to database access. The role requires an inquisitive mindset and the ability to analyze event data either via monitoring systems or directly by data analytics.

Candidate must be willing to enroll in Associate Investment Monitoring due to the nature of the role and access.

Required Skills

  • A natural curiosity, the ability to identify relationships between data points, and the passion to find answers.
  • 3+ years’ work experience (or equivalent graduate school experience) in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Protection, Information Security, or other experience related to Cyber Security.
  • Data analytics experience using Splunk, Cloudera Data Warehouse, Guardium Big Data Intelligence or similar data analytics platforms
  • Understanding of IT Security frameworks
  • Familiar with one or more database platforms (in midrange, mainframe, or data warehouse)
  • Working knowledge of information security and database security principles (e.g. access control, data corruption, administrative misuse)
  • Ability to work independently on initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking.
  • Superior communication skills

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Information Security or related field or equivalent experience in Information Protection or Information SecurityStrong familiarity with Guardium, Guardium Big Data Intelligence (GBDI), or other Database Activity Monitoring Tools a big plus
  • Industry Security Certification (CPSI, CISRA, CISA, CRISC, CISM)
  • Audit and Compliance experience
  • Experienced with SIEM tools such as ArcSight
  • Familiarity with Bank of America database activity monitoring and/or a database security or activity monitoring function with similar enterprise scope
  • Experience developing and gathering functional requirements

Enterprise Role Overview - As an experienced professional, provide advice to client management with regard to moderately complex security issues. Assists in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques. Coordinates the reporting data security incidents. Provides technical support to the client and management and staff in risk assessments and implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products. Monitors existing and proposed security standard setting groups. State and Federal legislation and regulations. Identifies and escalates changes that will affect information security policy, standards and procedures. Executes security controls to prevent hackers from infiltrating company information or jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocols. Administers security policies to control access to systems and maintains the company firewall. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Typically 5-7 years of IT experience.
