Position Summary

The Mobile Engineering/Application Development Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to attract, recruit, onboard, and retain top talent
  • Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches, and other partners to ensure we rapidly deliver exceptional products
  • Grow the technical expertise of the team
  • Help with establishing and advocating the best quality application development and engineering practices throughout the Mobile Tech teams

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading & managing high performing application developers/ engineers in cross-functional teams (including QA, Product Management, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with iOS and Android mobile development
  • Experience in architecting and developing networking and/or secure applications for iOS and Android
  • A firm understanding of building mobile applications and thick client applications that utilize web-services (either HTTP based, XML, SOAP, JSON or other services)
  • Software engineering (coding) experience in C++/Java/J2EE
  • Background in working in an Agile environment
  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related discipline – OR – equivalent work experience.

Manages associates and makes all decisions on personnel actions including staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making. Supports multiple systems through maintenance, modification and problem resolution to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations. Manages multiple applications/ development projects, or single major complex initiatives if a small area of the development function. Coordinates resources across various applications, operations or projects. Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. May provide expertise in determining the strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives. Provides input on policy issues. Typically requires 7-10 years of applicable experience.
