Job Description:

The Problem Management Analyst will be a member of the Cyber Security Defense team and will focus on Post Incident Review (PIR) / Problem Management (PM). A successful candidate in this role will work closely with Incident Management, other cyber response teams, as well as the Security Control Owners in order to perform root-cause-analysis as part of the post incident review process. The result of each PIR engagement is a series of lessons learned as well as associated action plans in order to drive continuous improvement for cyber security controls and technology operations. These action plans are then be tracked and reported over time along with trends on specific failure types. Applicants should have a proven track record of being to navigate successfully across organization lines, facilitating group meeting dynamics, working in a dynamic and challenging environment and a solid foundation of cyber security knowledge.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years in incident response, security operations center (SOC) or IT/technology problem management experience in a mission critical environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff (in technical language) and with business customers (non-technical language).
  • Fluent writing and communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately utilize delegated authority to influence and direct in a matrix environment.
  • Analytical ability to identify underlying issues and the risks they pose from numerous sources.
  • Ability to report trends and patters in a manner consumable for executive team.
  • Security+ or GSEC or higher.

Desired Skills:

  • Network Security experience including PCAP analysis, FW, IDS/IPS.
  • Vulnerability Management experience.
  • Application Security experience.
  • Complex, large enterprise business environment experience a plus.

Enterprise Role Overview:

As an experienced professional, provide advice to client management with regard to moderately complex security issues. Assists in the review, development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques. Coordinates the reporting data security incidents. Provides technical support to the client and management and staff in risk assessments and implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products. Monitors existing and proposed security standard setting groups. State and Federal legislation and regulations. Identifies and escalates changes that will affect information security policy, standards and procedures. Executes security controls to prevent hackers from infiltrating company information or jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocols. Administers security policies to control access to systems and maintains the company firewall. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Typically 5-7 years of IT experience.
