Candidate Qualifications:
• Degree in a related field from a college or university and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Technical Director for live and live to tape programming in both studio and remote locations; experience and ability to direct and technical direct concurrently for smaller productions and for a multi-camera production.
• Must be proficient using both MAC and PC devices in a production environment.
• Must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency while using the following equipment:
o Broadcast production switchers, particularly knowledge of the Grass Valley Kayenne
o Media servers
o Working knowledge of Dalet
o Studio and field cameras
o XDCam, ProRes, and other digital record formats.
o Experience with operating Sony PTZ Cameras
o Tricaster
o User knowledge of web-based video stream systems
• Must have a functional knowledge of graphic systems.
• Must be knowledgeable about current NTSC broadcast standards.
• Ability to work under pressure while handling several tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to interface with clients during all levels of production.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Responsibilities Include:
• Directs technical aspects of live and live-to-tape productions, checking and switching between video sources, and taking responsibility for the on-air product, including camera shots and graphics.
• Monitors and performs technical checks on equipment to ensure proper operation and that programs broadcast conform to station or network policies and regulations.
• Acts as a liaison between engineering and production departments to stay abreast of control room and studio technology, status and the shows specific needs.
• Oversees, in collaboration with engineers, the maintenance, care, and inventory of all production-related equipment including, but not limited to studio and field audio, video, support gear, physical set up and configuration of studios, and control rooms and verifies the proper operation and configuration of all studio equipment based on production needs.
• Consults with the engineering and production team leaders and COO and assists in the selection of new production equipment on an as-needed basis.
• Acts as crew-chief for studio and remote productions.
• Participates in pre-production meetings to ensure that production goals are attainable given existing equipment capabilities.
