As a veteran-friendly city, Newark provides the perfect backdrop to host an engaging discussion focused on public-private partnerships and community engagement around veteran and military family support—especially from the employment and career support angles. To that end, on October 24th, 2018, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes in partnership with Prudential Financial will host “A Call to Lead: Creating Lasting Impact for Newark’s Military Community."

This half-day event intends to highlight Newark's military community and its value to the region, provide best practices for businesses to engage the military community and move from military friendly to military ready, and highlight pathways to career fields through education and innovative training programs to build the greater Newark workforce.
